Let's Give 2016 a Proper Hello / by Heather Neary

Dearest Compadres,

It's incredible to believe that we said goodbye to 2015. I realize that several of us are breathing a huge sigh of relief, for this has most certainly been a year full of extreme trials and painful transitions. I know that in releasing this cycle of 2015, many have let go of jobs, homes, relationships, and the physical forms of loved ones. I imagine that there were moments, perhaps countless, where you wondered if you could survive the changes that you were presented with. I imagine that there were moments, perhaps days, weeks, or months, that you asked yourself if all the struggle was worth it. Yet, here you are. You survived. You put one foot in front of the other and navigated your way through some of the most profound initiations a BEing can go through. And I can say with the utmost certainty that you are wiser for it. Whether you fully realize it or not, you have a deeper understanding of yourSelf and the mysteries of the Universe than you did a year ago. Your wisdom and gnosis will only continue to expand as time goes on, and that is a treasure that is invaluable, and something that nothing and no one can ever take away from you. However you choose to celebrate this New Year, please create space to reflect upon what you have learned from this cycle. If there is something that you would like to leave behind with 2015- fear, self-doubt, scarcity, resentment-BE willing to LET IT GO. Where you are headed, you don't need it anymore. Writing it down and burning it is a very powerful ritual. Burying the ashes or putting them into a body of water is a sacred way of honoring our connection with Mother Earth, the elementals, and the rhythm of cycles that flow throughout creation.

I invite us all to throw-out the old 'resolutions' and 'goals' and consciously embrace our power of intent. Intent is an empowering, high-vibrational process. Resolution has a much denser energy and is often associated with self-criticism and punishment for being 'bad' the year before or doing something 'wrong'. Feel into what you truly desire for yourSelf in this new cycle. What feels exciting and joyous? What would be nourishment for your body, mind, and Soul? In choosing language for your intents, I encourage you to begin each one with 'I AM'. Connect with this process as if it is already happening, because it IS! You may even feel called to create a visual representation of this through a vision board, painting, or altar. Usher in 2016 with intents that are uplifting and inspiring! Dream BIG!!!

In ONE Love,

Heather
